Terms of Service

1. The service
Tunnelo provides remote-access tunneling for self-hosted services. You run our agent on your own hardware; it establishes an encrypted tunnel to our gateway, and we route traffic between your devices and your server under a hostname we assign or you choose, subject to the throughput limits of your plan. We do not host your applications or your data — your server stays yours, on your hardware, on your connection.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate account information and keep your credentials — including your agent registration token — secure. One subscription covers one server seat: one tunnel, one assigned hostname, unlimited client devices. You are responsible for activity that occurs through your account and your tunnel.
3. Billing, trials, and cancellation
Subscriptions are billed monthly per server through Stripe. New subscriptions begin with a 7-day free trial; a payment method is collected at signup and billing starts automatically when the trial ends unless you cancel first. You can cancel at any time from the billing portal — cancellation stops future charges, and service continues to the end of the paid period. Partial months are not refunded; the trial is the evaluation window.
If a payment fails, we suspend routing but reserve your hostname and tunnel configuration for 30 days before deprovisioning, so a lapsed card does not destroy your setup. Resolving payment within the grace period restores service immediately.
4. Bandwidth and fair use
Plans are sold by throughput, not by data volume. There are no transfer caps and no overage charges — instead, each plan sets a ceiling on how fast traffic moves through our gateway:
- Your plan's Mbps is a ceiling, not a guarantee. It caps gateway throughput for your tunnel; actual speeds also depend on your server's upload bandwidth, your viewers' connections, and network conditions between them — none of which we control. Concurrent streams on one tunnel share the plan's ceiling.
- Capacity is shared. Our gateways are provisioned so that plan ceilings are sustainably available for normal use — personal streaming and access patterns with idle periods. They are not provisioned for every tunnel saturating its ceiling around the clock.
- Fair use. Sustained, continuous saturation of your plan's ceiling (materially beyond normal personal streaming patterns), operating your tunnel as a relay, CDN, or general-purpose proxy for third-party traffic, or reselling bandwidth are not permitted. Where we detect these patterns we may rate-limit further, and for continued or egregious cases suspend the tunnel — with notice where practicable.
- What we never do: meter your data, bill overages, or throttle below your plan's ceiling for ordinary use — however heavy your evenings and weekends are.
5. Acceptable use and DMCA
Use of the service is governed by our Acceptable Use Policy, which is incorporated into these terms. In short: your tunnel may only serve content and services you have the right to use and share. We respond to valid DMCA takedown notices by suspending routing for the affected hostname, and we terminate the accounts of repeat infringers. The AUP page lists our designated agent and notice process.
6. Your content, your responsibility
We proxy encrypted traffic to services that you host and control. We do not host, inspect, or index your content, and we cannot see inside your library or applications. You are solely responsible for the content you store and serve and for securing the services you expose, and you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising from your use of the service or the content served through your tunnel.
7. Availability and changes to the service
We operate the service with reasonable skill and care but do not offer an uptime guarantee or service credits. Maintenance, upgrades, or events beyond our control may interrupt tunnels; agents reconnect automatically when service resumes. We may improve or modify the service over time; if a change materially reduces what your plan provides, we will notify you before it takes effect.
8. Suspension and termination
We may suspend routing or terminate accounts for breach of these terms or the AUP, for the abuse patterns described in section 4, in response to valid legal process, or for non-payment (after the section 3 grace period). You may stop using the service and cancel at any time. After termination or the end of the grace period, your hostname is released and your tunnel configuration is deprovisioned.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, revenue, or profits.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced by email or on the dashboard at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance.
